|Seversk is a city in the Tomsk region in Russia. Located on the Tom river, 12 km from Tomsk. Is the largest of the closed administrative – territorial formations of the Rosatom system. At the entrance to the town, there are checkpoints, entry and access is strictly by permit only. On the territory of the city is the second largest commercial nuclear power plant. Based in 1949 year in connection with the construction of a new industrial complex for the production of highly enriched uranium and plutonium. Originally had several names, one of them is the village of Birches. In 1954 has received the name Seversk (as is North Tomsk), however, for the purposes of secrecy became known as Tomsk-7.
